CeeCode: CeeCodize yourself event!

Yesterday I was invited down to the Ceecode office to check out their new line and along with other bloggers to design own bags! The bag designs will be posted on Facebook shortly! 'Like' both http://www.facebook.com/GirlAboutDubai  and http://www.facebook.com/CeeCode to see the designs and vote for your favorite!

It was so lovely meeting Cynthia who designs the CeeCode bags and her sister Nancy who owns Nancy's corner a gorgeous accessory boutique. The bags were absolutely divine and definitely in keeping with all the summer trends.

I particularly love the the British flag bags, they would be perfect for the Queens Jubilee next weekend!

The studs and chains give the bags an edgy feel and would make any outfit!
 Cupcakes were amazing!
Nancy who sources the gorgeous jewellery and I.

I picked up a pair of the monochrome earrings which were featured in my outfit of the day.
The bags were absolutely stunning and I definitely have my eye on a couple! To check out the bags visit: www.ceecode.com or 'like' their Facebook page for exciting updates   http://www.facebook.com/CeeCode!

Thank you so much to Cynthia, Nancy and Clare from 'Clareandthecity' for inviting me.
I can't wait to 'cee' what CeeCode does next!

We want Litas!

Ever since the Jeffery Campbell Litas appeared on the fashion scene back in the summer of 2011 they have been in huge demand! Appearing in practically every Tumblr picture and in all fashion magazines, Lita's have certainly made an impact.

However living in Dubai makes the hunt for your perfect pair of Litas rather tricky. When I first arrived in September they were indeed nowhere to be found. However today, at last Litas have hit Dubai!

Where you can purchase your own:

-WEST L.A.
Sunset Mall
Jumeirah 3  Dubai
04 330 7333
West L.A is AMAZING. Not only has it brought Litas into Dubai but also brands such as UNIF, which is even hard to find in London! They also stock the Jeffery Campbell 'Nightwalks' which are divine though slightly more of an acquired taste.

-The Hipster
Online boutique based in the UAE which stocks a variety of cool brands, though not so sure about the name 'The Hipster'.

I also noticed Lita's being a key feature of Madebyaliya's collection at Blue Marlin’s Ibiza fashion show, so hopefully Jeffery Campbell is now making its debut in Dubai at last!

I know I will be picking up a pair as soon as my exams are over! I have had my eye on the Cosmic Litas for a while now.

Hope this helped any of you who, like me have been on the hunt for Litas!
Happy shopping!

Vintage clothing boutique in Dubai!

Shopping vintage allows you to find one off gorgeous pieces sometimes with designer labels and a cheaper price! Personally whilst living in the UK I sourced quite a lot of my clothes from Charity shops and a few vintage stores in and around London. Upon moving to Dubai that was one of the things I did miss, being able to pick up vintage items relatively easily. However, I recently discovered the amazing GARDEROBE an eclectic, chic boutique on the Jumeriah Beach Road. They have a beautiful selection of preowned clothes with a few designer gems! If you are one for designer shoes and handbags I definitely recommend checking out Garderobe, inside you can pick up a vintage Chanel bag for 11,000dhs which for a Chanel bag is a good price. The shop was like an Aladdin's cave of wonders, with some truly stunning dresses which would be perfect for upcoming Proms. Here are a few pictures from my trip today:

 Designer bags galore!
Some of the showcase of jewellery
The shabby chic shop is decorated perfectly in fitting with the theme
Every girls heaven a staircase filled with designer shoes! Including Jimmy Choo, YSL and Louboutin!
This stunning dress would be perfect for a night out or even for after prom affair!
So if you are in the market for some new one off designer pieces or simply a lover of all things vintage Garderobe is definitely worth a look! Especially for all you girls with prom coming up, I do have my eye on a beautiful Versace dress from there for my prom next year. Check out their website for more details and directions. http://www.garderobevintage.com/
Happy shopping!

OOTD| Edgy and cool, by the pool!

Top- New Look
Bandeau top- New Look
Shorts- Market then DIY'ed by me
Shoes- Doc Martians

Here's a quick outfit of the day! It was 43 degrees C today and boy didn't we all feel it! Being so hot I decided to pair my favourite pair of acid detailed denim shorts, which I 'distressed' and bleached myself. With a lose fitting grey vest top from New Look, my DM's and then for a pop of colour a bright orange bandeau top. The bandeau top fits in the with the current florescent trend and the rest of the look simply describes my style. This is a very simple outfit that anyone can wear whilst still staying somewhat in keeping with the current trends.

I tend to get asked this question alot: 'How do you wear those boots in the heat!?' However my answer to this isn't a very good one, yes they do make me hot but they also do make my outfit! All in the name of fashion. More outfit of the days to come this week as I am on study leave at last!
Stay tuned

Primark in Dubai!?

Being a fashion addict upon hearing the news of a Primark finally hitting Dubai I was excited to say the least! Consequentially after college on a Thursday I dragged my Mum to Bank Street to explore the new Primark. With my purse at the ready I entered hoping to find a few bargains while updating my wardrobe.

The outside of the shop looked exactly the same as the UK's original, as fellow Primark lovers will immediately recognise from the picture below:
Heading on inside, things took a sudden strange turn... The clothes inside did not fit in with the same style as Primark clothes. I immediately realised, this was not the Primark i'd been hoping for. I sneakily took a few snaps to show you the horrors of 'Dubai's Primark.'
Angry birds and Smurfs in Primark!?

Cuddly toys and shoes, with boxes!? Definitely not seeming legitimate....
The makeup, which in the photo looks like a selection of MAC products and Revoln lip-glosses. However I can assure you this was all fake branded makeup of the cheapest quality, yes even by Primark's standards.
Although Primark is known to copy other shops designs and styles, I somehow feel these  fake Louis Vuitton bags were a step too far.

The pictures not being the best quality as were taken on my mums Iphone show the cheap, tackiness that lurked inside the familiar Primark frontier. Alas my hopes were shattered, this was not Primarks first venture into Dubai, but a cheap fraud!
Upon returning home I Googled 'Dubai Primark' to find an article which depicts the UK Primark's disgust about the shop! They are in fact suing the entrepreneur who came up with this idea and branded the name Primark against cheap, fake, copies made up in China.

I cannot say I am too surprised to be honest, as anyone living in Dubai knows we are all about the fakes *Karma market anyone?* However I am hoping that as Primark now knows about the need for a Primark in Dubai they will indeed act on this, and bring a real Primark to Dubai!
