♥Fia's monthly Favourites: August

I only have a few items to share this month as I'm still in London. Next month should be more exciting on the blog in general as I will be back in Dubai and attending events, can't wait!

1. Carvela, Kurt Geiger sandals
This month was the first time I'd ever worn flip flops in my life, mad I know! My Docs had given me a blister so I tried wearing my friends flip flops and decided that I needed a pair. Granted these aren't flip flops but they are a start and I fell in love with the colour and design. I've had so many compliments on them, definitely going to be wearing these non-stop in Dubai!

2. Flower hair accessories
Everyone was rocking the boho flowers this festival season, including me. I love the whole festival look, messy hair and all. I picked the flower reefs up from Camden last year and the white flower clip was from H&M.

3. Back necklaces

This back chain looks so elegant with a simple outfit and gives any outfit an 'edge'. Slightly confusing to put on but gets attention and looks awesome! I found this on sale at Miss.Selfridge for only 3pounds and couldn't resist! The little skull bead is everywhere at the moment, though my favourite designs would have to be by Rock On.

4.Vintage Levis
I picked up these vintage Levi shorts before Reading Festival from Rokit in Covent Garden. They are a black denim which I like. They were part of the Rokit 'renewal' section which means the shop have have DIY'ed the original  vintage jeans. The only problem with this is, they are super small! They do fit however they can be uncomfortable if you wear them for a long time, which was not ideal for Reading! However they are still a favourite cause they look perfect on!

5. Songs of the month!
1. Spectrum, Florence and the Machine/Calvin Harris: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4-6Y_91v5I
 - I saw all these songs live at Reading Festival and they were all AMAZING!
Thanks for reading!

I'm back: August♡

Hello Strangers!
I can't believe I haven't done a post for nearly a month! I haven't really got a valid excuse but I can assure you I am definitely back in business and have some exciting posts coming up so stay tuned. I am back in Dubai on Tuesday with a busy week ahead of me which I shall be blogging about.
For now though, I thought I'd do a post to tie up the loose ends of things that have happened in August and I haven't got round to writing about!

Ready Steady Go Project 2012
I posted back in July about working with a team up in London trying to capture the spirit of the London Olympics. I helped with the running of the blog and conducting interviews, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Here are some pictures and a link to the final video:

THE ANGELS ARE COMING!
-If you follow me on Twitter (@girlaboutdubai) you may have seen a couple of tweets about the Angels coming to Dubai. That's right Victoria's Secret will be hitting Dubai before the end of this year. When I know the exact date I shall let you know, as two of the famous Angels are coming to open the store! Exciting news for all Dubai fashionistas! Stay tuned for a post on the opening!

BLOG LOVING
The fashion blogging community in Dubai is ever growing and I just had to give a special mention to Alix at Stylemequicks because her blog is amazing! She's super cute and sweet, not to mention her edgy and cool fashion sense at only 14! Definitely worth checking out her blog and following, one to watch in the next few months!

READING FESTIVAL 2012
I originally planned to do a post on festival fashion but unfortunately I didn't really have the right time needed to produce a perfect one so I left it. However I did want to share a few pictures of me at Reading Festival. I had a lovely weekend spent with my closest friends, the lineup wasn't amazing in my opinion however I still had so much fun. I may do another post on Reading when my pictures have been developed, so keep an eye out!

OOTD| Summer grunge

I'm staying in Dorset for the week with my family, we are staying in the cutest little village. Although this outfit isn't the most interesting I thought I may as well take a few snaps!

The look is really simple but there is definitely a grungy feel about it. On my top is none other than Pete Doherty, if you know me you will know I'm a little bit in love with him! The chains are one of my favourite accessories, I used to wear them all the time, however I don't think they are everyone's cup of tea, not that stops me haha! Of course still loving my Litas, they make the outfit slightly more interesting too.
